Mount Mary Church

Mount Mary Church is a Roman Catholic Church, built in 1640 is also jnown by the name of ‘The Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount’. The priest brought the statue to Mumbai from Portugal & constructed the chapel here.
Initially, the statue had a gilt-lined object in its right hand. In 1700, Arabrates attacked the chapel @ broke the right hand of the statue, disfiguring it. It was rebuilt in 1760 & was adorned with a statue of ‘ Our Lady of Navigators’, brought from St. Andrew’s Church. The original statue was re-installed in the church in 1761, after being adorned with a child in her arms & is there till date.

Hare Rama Hare Krishna Temple

The first time Srila Prabhupada saw the land where Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple is situated was when he was going to Smt. Mararjee’s house. During that time, the land was nothing more than a jungle. He liked the land so much that he prayed to God that if ever he would be able to get this land, he would build a beautiful temple there. By God’s grace, the same land was offered to international Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in the year 1971. Thereafter started the constrution of lskcon Temple and it was inaugurated on 14th January 1978 (the day of Makar Sankranti.)

Chotta Kashmir

Chotta Kashmir is a colourful garden developed in the Aarey Colonv area just near the Aarey Dairy. As the name suggests

Sanjay Gandhi National Park

The Borivali National Park, officially known as the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. lt is one of Asia’s most visited National Parks with 2 million annual visitors. The park also holds claimto be the largest park in the world located within city limits. Sanjay Candhi national park is very rich in terms of flora and fauna, which attracts thousands of tourists every year. Tourists also enjoy the visit of 2400 years old kanheri caves, which lie within this park.


Kanheri Caves

The Kanheri Cave are located in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai. The Kanheri Caves consist of a number of
rock-cut Buddhist caves. These caves were birilt in the 1st Century BC when Mumbai was the territory of the Maurayan
and Kushan empires. The caves are approximately 450 meters above seal level and from here one can get a beautiful view of the surroundings. Today cave are an interesting tourist attraction within the Sanjay Candhi National Park. The Park regularly organizes a number to nature trails and treks to these caves. (Monday Closed)
